Mountain Biking in Medellín - Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we called Suéltele?

Suéltele is the word espectators yell the most to riders so they go faster on a steep section of any mountain bike race. It refers specifically to the releasing of the brake levers so the bike rolls free down the trail. It's a cool coincidence that the verb Soltar can also refer to Soltar los frenos (release the brakes), Soltar el cuerpo (Being loose) or simply not being attached. We embrace all its meanings.
